Leadership Strategies
One of the strategies which may be used in order to manage public private partnerships
are developing commitments which are beyond the contract (Maltin, 2019). Concentrating on
contract terms alone may not be enough to ensure the success of a partnership. This means that
all parties involved in the contract must be willing to go an extra step to do things which are
beneficial to the partnership by their own volition.
Another strategy which may help to make a public private partnership to be successful is
the ability to iron out differences. Partners should be willing to state their interests in a project
early enough so that others may be aware of their motives (Maltin, 2019). Partners should also be
constantly solving problems which may arise in the course of undertaking the project together.
Failure to do so may bring about distrust as well as the failure of a project.
An example of a successful public partnership is the Cross Israeli highway, a highway
project which was built as the result of a partnership between the government of Israel and a
private company DEC (Raveh, 2002). The project was able to meet both budgetary expectations
as well as timely completion.

An example of a similarly successful public private partnership is the Melbourne city
link, which is also a road project and which was built as a partnership between the Australian
government and a company by the name GoVie. The project achieved great success and was
considered to be one of the greatest successes at its time of completion.
