currently exhibit leadership, formally or informally, in various settings within your
community. This could be within specific organizations or social groups with which you
engage. As a member or potential leader of these organizations or groups, describe ways

Leadership

As a member of an environmental youth group, I exhibit cultural differences through the
attempt to understand my various group member’s differences, seeking always to find common
grounds, constant dialogues as well as engagements in diversity topics of discussion. I also tend
to practice cross-cultural communication with members of different cultures, and I believe this
strengthens people from different areas towards a common goal for all. To foster cultural
sensitivity, my peers can adopt and enlist in a digital storytelling program that will enable
engagements amongst each other in a diverse manner. This will diffuse cultural tensions by
focusing on the positive cultural practices and diversity amongst them. The digital platform will
allow all the group members to upload their various environmental conservation technique
cultures hence providing them with a forum of opening up and learning from their fellow group
members online without the pressure of having to explain their cultures on a one on one basis
that they may not embrace.
Various communities have been able to become positive change-makers with the fullest
capacities in storytelling that is digital as well as culture. Through this tool, the attitudes of the
various group members can be changed as to how they perceive different cultures apart from
their own. Through this artistic and innovative thinking style, various issues existing around

cultural sensitivity and diversity can be diffused. This can encourage youth as the change-makers
to embrace the prime objectives of this intervention technique. This is also a great opportunity to
understand the cultures of minority groups to ensure peaceful and harmonious living without any
forms of misunderstanding coming about (Solomon & Reiner, 2017) .
