Servant Leadership

Partnerships involve strong servant leadership that builds trust based on transparency
and honesty. Often, the needed programs and practices are known but a respectful
partnership with the community is missing. Based on your experiences and the assigned
reading, discuss the importance of servant leadership in building trust and sustainable
partnerships. Identify an example of someone who exhibited servant leadership skills in
building a cross-cultural partnership and why these efforts were successful. State
whether you agree or disagree with the following statement and provide two reasons for
your stance: A true partnership involves risk shared by all parties.

PUB655: Servant Leadership

Servant leadership builds an environment in a community where patients’ interests
come first and organize health care providers to deliver high-value patient care. Servant
leaders in partnership believe in having value, respect, and inspiration to accomplish a
purpose. Moreover, servant leaders believe in supporting the urge of healthcare service to
others and having the persistence to members of their teams (Martin, 2019). At first, one may
not have the desired change, but with time by giving more chances through training, vital
skills are learned. This improves the quality of service and personal lives of service providers.
As a result, servant leaders create trust in both health care providers and patients, leading to a
sustainable partnership.
In the United States of America, one of the leading specialty retailers of storage and
organization products is the Container Store. The chairman of the Container Store, Kip
Tindell, is one example of a servant leader. The chairman formalized a principle whereby
employees come first, where employees were trained and compensated beyond the
workplace. It is better to have a few motivated employees than many unmotivated employees.
Employee motivation increases productivity. The principle of employees coming first has
made the Container Store successful, as employees are motivated, resulting in higher quality
and quantity production.

PUB655-SERVANT LEADERSHIP 2
A true partnership involves risk shared by all parties. I agree with this statement
because more partners willing to share risks lead to higher benefits and returns. When more
than one team joins, the group provides more resources and opportunities to share resources
and reduce risks (Martin, 2019). The more health care stakeholders come, collaborate, and
work as a team, the higher the chances of getting quality services as risks are minimized
when shared.
