Papers must address this fundamental question: How has race, class, or gender relations evolved since the 1850s in our American democracy? (Please select just one: race or class or gender)
Your paper should consist of an introduction, a clear thesis statement, evidence to support your thesis, and a well-drawn conclusion. While you are preparing your essay, think about the big picture of American history. What has history taught us about race, class, or gender relations in the context of our American democracy? The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on the transformation of race, class, or gender relations from the mid-nineteenth century to the present and analyze how these relations have evolved within our American democracy. Essays must include a reference and quote from each of the following:
The Constitution;
At least one other founding document, for example, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, or the Federalist Papers ; and,
At least one landmark Supreme Court Case or landmark Executive Order.
Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 750 words, but no more than 1,000 words. Word count must be noted on the last page of the paper, NOT ON THE WORKS CITED PAGE;
Must answer the fundamental question with a clear and convincing thesis statement: How has race, class, or gender relations evolved since the 1850s within the context of our American democracy?;
A clear and convincing thesis statement answers the fundamental question and provides the reasons for the answer:

Must have a separate Works Cited page;
Must be double-spaced;
