Preventing Inpatient Falls: Disseminating the results

Disseminating the project’s results will require the use of set planned actions designed to empower and promote the application and incorporation of validated strategies Southwell et al., 2005). As a result, the project’s deliverables and outcomes will be available to the larger nursing community and stakeholders. Disseminating the results will promote maintenance of the outcomes and practice for proper practices.

Disseminating the project’s results to the general nursing community and key stakeholders is important as it informs them of the project development, helps in receiving feedback, and assures that the outcome and practice are maintained following project implementation. All the stakeholders should be informed, including all members of the larger nursing community. The project results will be presented via staff meeting, e-mails, and news bulletins (Southwell et al., 2005).

Arranging workshops or conferences will ensure that the project maintains a high profile, the participants learn from the achievements, in addition, the outputs are taken up and embedded. Workshops and conferences are advantageous in that communication occurs in both directions; the stakeholders and the bigger nursing community can contribute ideas as well as brainstorm on ways through which the project results can be used. Inviting members of the nursing community will ensure that they receive information on project outcomes and that their feedbacks are received (Southwell et al., 2005).

Another strategy that can be used is a research summary document. This summarizes the project results concisely and clearly. It is important that this document is organized by topic areas and has components such as articulate key findings that can be presented in 3-5 bullets. Fact sheets can be used for complicated studies or if more detailed information is being presented. Other strategies for presenting the project outcomes include the official website, study newsletters; policy briefs; and research briefs, brochures, posters, and flyers.
