Nurses are human but are expected to be prepared for any and everything. Well prior to
this program, I knew little to nothing about public health let alone global health. According
to Edmonson (2020), These issues require complex interprofessional and interagency
cooperation and solutions that involve governments, non-profits, and many times include
private companies and foundations. In public health, nurses are the frontline workers
when it comes to collecting and observing data for research and studies for all global health
issues. Nurses in roles across health system and community settings are well positioned to
assess individuals, communities, and populations; advocate for justice and equality; and
partner with legislators and inter-professional leaders to identify, implement, and evaluate
a “strengths-based approach” that engages communities addressing local, national and
global health issues (Edmonson, 2020).

Hello,
I read your post and was immediately drawn to it with the opening statement. It captures the
attention of the reader and induces one to read the rest of the post. Concerning the post, I found it
very insightful as it shows the complexity of global health and the role of nurses. I agree with
you that global health requires multifaceted interagency and inter-professional collaboration to
create sustainable solutions to health problems (Kruk, Pate, & Mullan, 2017). Indeed, unlike
public health, global health encompasses professionals from various disciplines who work
towards a mutual goal. On that note, since nurses play a vital role in the healthcare spectrum,
they require specialized training and need to engage in discrete research to adjust to global health
demands. I believe that you manage to capture these aspects excellently in your post. Overall,
your post was quite enlightening.
