Main Thesis

The paper’s main thesis is; in the advent of healthcare reform, the translation of patient care from evidence-based practices is not viable.
Predictions and applicability

The article presents ideas that are very applicable in the healthcare arena. The article also gives hints on factors that can hinder or help knowledge translation during reforms.
Accuracy, reliability and validity

During the study, measures were put in place to promote accuracy, validity, and reliability. Only valid responses were used in calculating the descriptive statistics. The second author reviewed the open-ended items’ responses and identified the principal concepts and elements. These were then discussed with the lead author (Dadich & Hosseinzadeh, 2013). The process continued after no discrepant views were noted. There was first-level coding and axial coding, and the two authors were involved in the process of distilling concepts and elements to form constructed themes.
Issues I agree with

The primary healthcare sector is the backbone of many health systems and it is associated with better patient outcomes. This is particularly the case considering contemporary challenges that have plagued healthcare systems including increased availability of new treatments, increased rates of preventable and chronic diseases, and increasing healthcare costs (Dadich & Hosseinzadeh, 2013).  Basically, these are the reasons that have prompted the need for reforms. There is a need for territory and state governments to collaborate in providing primary health care. Australia is experiencing the single hugest healthcare reform that is focused on a locally run and nationally funded healthcare.
Issues I disagree with

Being an exercise in transformation, healthcare reforms are associated with trends such as restructuring, rationalization, and reorganization. However, healthcare reforms are not linked to instability and volatility based on the fact that before implementation, almost healthcare consents that the reforms are necessary. Healthcare reforms are also not characterized by staff turnover, uncertainty, and diminished morale since their basic role is actually addressing these issues (Dadich & Hosseinzadeh, 2013).
Why this article is useful/not useful

This article is very useful since it emphasizes the adoption of primary health care in healthcare systems so as to reap the benefits associated with it. The article also highlights some of the reasons that indicate the need for healthcare reforms as well as the need for ensuring that clinicians have access to understandable and timely information regarding evidence-based practices, which will promote its embrace. This will also influence patient care outcomes and clinical decision-making.

Main Thesis

The federal government is responsible for financing a huge proportion of the entire healthcare cost and, therefore, it has a principal role in policy making as well as the overall planning of services.
Predictions and applicability

Considering that the information presented is current and comprehensive, it can be very useful in developing health policies.
Accuracy, reliability and validity

The article is based on extensive research, the information is recent, and the author had been mentioned.
Issues I agree with

There is so much political controversy regarding healthcare based on the fact that the federal government is held accountable for financing a system where a majority of the services are offered by private practitioners (Palmer & Short, 2010).When talking about health policy, there is keen attention on courses of action affecting services, organizations, institutions, and funding arrangements. The actions of voluntary, private, and public organizations are also considered since they have an influence on health.
Issues I disagree with

The term ‘public policy’ should not only be used in the context of policies where the government is primarily accountable. This is because public policies are implemented for the sake of all people as a whole, using public resources, and the overall impact is on the public interest. In this regard, even activities carried out by non-governmental organizations constitute public policies
Why this article is useful/not useful

The article is particularly useful since it informs the policy that healthcare institutions can use in a bid to create effective policies.
