- Citations for 5 current local news stories about your topic, in APA format. Current means that they came out within the last 3 months. Your APA citations must look exactly like these examples, including punctuation and capitalization:
If the story has a named author, follow this example:

The in-text citation (for when you quote from or refer to the article), would look like this: (Barry, 2019), or: According to Barry (2019), meteorologists from the National Hurricane Center “expect the system to become a tropical depression or Tropical Storm Humberto over the next day or so.”
If the story doesn’t have a named author, follow this example: 88 pounds of pills collected at Normandy ER. (2019, Sept. 11). https://www.claytodayonline.com/stories/88-pounds-of-pills-collected-at-normandy-er,19154? (Links to an external site.)
The in-text citation: (“88 Pounds of Pills,” 2019); you wouldn’t do the “According to” since there is no named author.
