Decide which legislative representative or decision-maker is the most appropriate to receive your letter.
For your original response, use a minimum of 2 scholarly sources to research the following:
Federal or state budget impact of your policy
Organizational or community budget impact
Advantage and disadvantage of the policy to your profession
Effect of the policy on patients and their families, including access, finance, and outcomes
Content
Your original response should address the following:
Identify the legislative representative or decision-maker to whom you will be addressing your letter, and explain why you chose that particular person.
Address the research bullet points outlined in the “Preparation” section of the assignment.
Include how you would argue the economic influences.
Include how you would argue the cost-benefit of your policy, keeping in mind that your legislative representative has a fixed budget and that any cost increases from your policy may require a reduction in spending on another project. Alternatively, any cost savings realized by not implementing your policy may result in additional funding for another project.
